Pahl Receives Maurier Book Award Nomination

Critically-acclaimed indie lit writer Nelson Pahl, author of the Bronte Prize award-winning book Bee Balms & Burgundy, has been named as one of three finalists for the prestigious 2007 Maurier Book Award, which honors North America's finest romance noir. Pahl's Two for Tuesday survived the award committee's paring from 127 titles and now goes head-to-head against Agamemnon's Daughter from Booker Prize award-winner Ismail Kadare and Dear John from mega-selling author Nicholas Sparks.

The 2007 Maurier Book Award Finalists:

Agamemnon's Daughter; Ismail Kadare (Arcade) (November 2006)
Dear John; Nicholas Sparks (Warner Bros.) (October 2006)
Two for Tuesday; Nelson Pahl (Café Reverie) (March 2007)

The Maurier Award, in it first year, is sponsored by the Literary Arts Guild (LAG). It honors the Best Romance Noir in North America each year, with this year’s selections published between April 1, 2006 and March 31, 2007. This year’s winner—selected Tuesday, September 4—receives a $5000 cash prize along with the Maurier Award plaque.
